Hey all. I had msn messenger 7.5 on my desktop and it would only let me sign in, anyone else tries and it freezes up. Today, I downloaded windows live, and the same thing is happening. Actually, not even sure if I can sign in. Any possible solutions? We have tried to disable norton, I have uninstalled messenger and reinstalled it, and no difference.
Also, if we do get this to work, should all contacts show up? Do we lose our info with the upgrade?
Thank you, I'm out of ideas and so far, googling isn't working. (smile!)
I think you must check your server!
All i can tell you is that you won't loos your contacts.
Your account is stored on msn's servers, meaning that you can acsess it from any computer, regardless of what software you use, just like the zone and hotmail.
Sorry i can't help more.
BEN.
Hmmm, server seems fine. Wonder what the deal is?
I'd try a complete reinstall.

Hmmm, well. Do you have windows XP? if yes insert your CD then open the start menu and select RUN... and type.
sfc /scannow
Then press enter to start scanning, this will fix all problems
Yes good idea the post before me. I'd like to add to this to make sure windows messenger isn't signing you on automaticly. open it, click on tools, arrow up to options go to general and make sure it's not checked to sign on when windows starts. I don't know which screen reader you use, but you may not no it's asking you to sign in again. It will say "you have signed in to messenger on another computer, please sign in again" Last I'd uninstall it and reinstall it, but wigh the Norton off. After it's set up turn Norton on. Go in to the allow programs list in Norton and make sure that it's on the list. You can find the title on the download page it wil be different then Windows live. Something.exe. If need let me know and I'll look it up, but att it to Norton if it's not there..
